Her thrust area of research is exploring different aspects of model membranes in presence of ganglioside GM1 using experimental and computational techniques. She has studied the phase behavior of a biomimic membrane in presence of ganglioside by applying surface pressure. The effect of transverse external electric field on biomembrane has also been investigated by her. Also, there is a study on the short-range interactions causing raft-like micro-domain formation by applying electric field in the lateral direction of the mimic membrane. Moreover, the effect of ganglioside on the functionality of biomembrane is one of her key area of research. Her technical skills include different Spectroscopic techniques (Absorption, Steady-state fluorescence, Time resolved fluorescence, Circular Dichroism), Langmuir Blodgett technique, SEM/TEM, Simulation studies with CHARMM and NAMD, VMD, BASIC, FORTRAN programming. |
